DALI version-1 registration

DALI version-1 testing

Alongside the DALI-2 certification program, it is still possible to test DALI control gear for compliance with version-1 of the DALI standard.

NOTE: DALI version-1 registration of LED drivers will stop at the end of 2019 - see right.

DiiA provides test sequences for DALI version-1 testing of control gear (according to Parts 102 and 201-208 inclusive).

DALI version-1 testing is only possible for control gear.

  • There are no version-1 tests for bus power supplies.
  • Devices such as application controllers and input devices (such as sensors) were not part of the DALI version-1 standard.

Successfully tested DALI version-1 devices can carry the DALI version-1 logo (see Trademarks page).

  • Application controllers, input devices (such as sensors) and standalone bus power supplies are not permitted to carry the DALI version-1 logo.

Registration of DALI version-1 devices is now compulsory

Registration of DALI version-1 LED drivers ends on 31 December 2019

The last date for registration of DALI version-1 LED drivers will be December 31, 2019. After that, no new registrations of LED drivers will be permitted.

For this reason, DiiA strongly recommends that companies now develop LED drivers according to DALI-2 instead of DALI version-1.

This deadline does not affect colour-control LED drivers, or other devices (control gear) where DALI-2 tests are not yet ready.

Products that are registered before the deadline of December 31, 2019, can continue to use the DALI version-1 logo trademark after this date.

DALI version-1 products can be registered with DiiA, and listed in the online Product Database.

Registration is now compulsory (effective June 1, 2018).

  • All DALI version-1 control gear that carry the DALI version-1 logo, and are available on the market, must be registered on the DiiA website.

There is no fee for registration, and there is no requirement to submit test results for checking unless specifically requested by DiiA. However, basic checks will be made of the product information (GTIN, product name, test sequence version and IEC parts).

DALI version-1 product registration, and use of the DALI version-1 logo and DALI wordmark, is only possible for DiiA members.
