DALI Summit: Jörg Bröker

Implementation of a DALI lighting system at Manchester Airport (UK)

Time: 12:30-13:00

In our cars we are used to have fully integrated systems: Whether engine information, climate control, audio system, navigation system - everything is operated via the same user interfaces. This is not yet true for (commercial) buildings: Due to their historically separate industries HVAC, lighting controls, access control, CCTV, etc. are still designed as separate systems.

But this is changing fast. This presentation shows how a DALI based lighting system was introduced at Manchester Airport (UK) and integrated into the existing BACnet based building automation system resulting in a state-of-the-art integrated building automation solutions. It focuses on the resulting synergies, benefits and how the impressive energy savings of 7 GWh per year were achieved.
