

DiiA has standardized the storage and reporting of data in control gear (e.g. LED drivers). Data is used for enhanced asset tracking and performance monitoring. The DALI-2 Smart Data specifications for control gear are listed below:

Data relates to the light source, the driver and the luminaire. The data is stored in DALI memory banks, with a standardized format and locations. The availability of DALI-2 Smart Data enables smart luminaires that are able to participate in the IoT.

Usage example: A manufacturer can encode data about the luminaire in the factory. When the luminaire is installed, the data is readily available to the lighting-control network. A utility company or lighting-installation owner could use this capability for automated commissioning, and to monitor and manage their lighting assets accurately and efficiently. |
